FIRST ANNUAL SOUTH TEXAS BOW HUNTER’S SHOOTOUT
El Tepozan Ranch, in cooperation with the Zapata County Chamber of Commerce as well as other sponsors, held the First Annual South Texas Bow Hunter’s Shootout on September 18, 2009. The indoor event brought together both traditional and compound bow hunters of all ages from South Texas. There were several divisions for men, women, and children of all skill levels. Trophies were awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each division, and the 1st place winner of the Open division won $500.00. With over 100 entries, the event was considered a huge success and future tournaments are being planned. El Tepozan Ranch helped sponsor the event and provided the equipment used for the tournament, which included the 3D pop-up target system.

Because of the success and demand for more tournaments, the Zapata County Chamber of Commerce and El Tepozan Ranch are planning another 3D pop-up tournament in March 2010, as well as the 2nd Annual South Texas Bow Hunter’s Shootout in September 2010. For more information on future 3D pop-up tournaments, please contact the Zapata County Chamber of Commerce.   
El Tepozan Ranch is planning a 3D course where tournaments can be held at the ranch on a monthly or weekly basis. For more information on El Tepozan Ranch tournaments, please contact the Ranch Manager, Gil Gamez.
