El Tepozan Ranch is located in South Texas, approximately six miles from Zapata, Texas, on the east side of US Hwy 83. The ranch has been in the family for four generations and the portion available for hunting contains approximately 1,125 acres and is part of the 14,500 acre Veleno Wildlife Management Co Op. The ranch is on the southern boundary of the Co Op and is high-fenced on two sides. There are up to seven ponds on the ranch depending on the time of year and current weather conditions. This working cattle ranch is divided into eight pastures, some of which are for archery hunting only, some primarily for bird hunting, and some which can be used for either. Access around the ranch is facilitated by a system of well maintained senderos and all weather roads. The starting point of any hunt at the ranch is the lodge which can accommodate up to eight hunters.
